Here it is:

A little closer:

It was difficult to take good photos of this. This was before any blocking- the stitches settled down a lot after a good blast of steam.

The pattern is from 'The baby knits book' by Debbie Bliss. I made the second (6-9 mths) size.
It was knitted in Rowan Wool Cotton in shade #900 Antique (white to you and me), and RYC Cashsoft in Shade #501 Sweet (pink). I knitted a stripe pattern of 4 rows white and 1 row pink, I also cast on and off with pink.
It was knitted on 3mm and 3.25mm aluminium needles. I didn't swatch but just went with the sizes stated in the pattern.
It took 3 days from start to finish- lovely quick knit.
I love wool cotton, it's so soft and has a really natural honest quality to it. I like way the cashsoft worked with the wool cotton. Cashsoft has a slight sheen to it and it looks nice with the flat finish of the wool cotton.
I'm thrilled with how this has turned out. I hope little Alice grows into it quickly, I can't wait to see her wearing it.
Thanks to grown up Alice the pattern.

It's a lovely pattern isn't it. I'm sorry I didn't see you when I was in Newcastle for Helen's birthday. Hope all is well. I'll let you know next time I'm going to be up there and hopefully will see you then.
I've just finished another stripey tank top for Katherine's Christmas present; I just need to sew the side seams which I'll probably do this evening or tomorrow. I knitted a pair of mactching bootees...very cute! I'll blog it all when finished seaming. Probably tomorrow.
Lots of love. xx
I'm planning on knitting a bunch of these for our nephew who apparently gets too hot when wearing jumpers but needs something to keep him a bit warmer in the cold weather. I love the stipey version you have made here.
